ICDE World Conference Update – 13th March 2019
In this ICDE World Conference update we would like to remind you that there is still time to submit your paper with the submission date extended until Monday 1st April. So far over 250 papers have already been submitted which is a good indication that this year’s ICDE conference will attract many of the world’s leading educators working in the area.
In this update we would also like to share a little information about some of the pre-conference events prior to the start of the full conference programme. On Sunday November 3rd a busy day of pre-conference events is planned to take place on Dublin City University’s (DCU) St Patrick’s campus. The campus is home to DCU’s Institute of Education and is quite close to the centre of Dublin. Sunday starts with tea and coffee and a formal welcome to the University where delegates can then choose from one of the following pre-conference workshops:
- New Mindsets for New Times: Preparing Teachers for the Digital-era
- Taking Stock of MOOCs: Envisioning the Future
- Learning Design for an Online World: Integrating Models and Frameworks
Lunch is included in the €25 fee for the workshops and we hope many delegates will stay on over the afternoon to participate in the Doctoral Research Symposium. The Symposium aims to provide a forum for current and prospective doctoral students to share their research interests and engage with experienced researchers and supervisors in the area.
The ICDE Global Presidents’ Summit which specifically targets Presidents, Vice-Chancellors, Principals, and Rectors from ICDE Member institutions will also take place throughout the day on the St Patrick’s campus. Participants from all the pre-conference events are then invited to mingle at the end the day with an informal reception serving drinks and light refreshments.
Finally, we would like to remind you to follow the ICDE World Conference on Twitter [@WCOL2019] where you can read news items and additional information related to this year’s conference.
